In September 2017: Sri Lanka Tour to Pakistan after eight years - Movingtrend

Sri Lanka will visit Pakistan in September 2017 after eight years. In 2009 the deadly militant attack was targeted on the Sri Lankan team which stopped the international cricket to come Pakistan. After this attack international teams should not want to visit Pakistan. In 2015 Zimbabwe broke that 'No Visit' impression, and played five limited overs games in Lahore, Pakistan.
Sri Lanka Cricket chief Thilanga Sumathipala said:
“We have had our security experts visit and make an assessment; things look positive with improvement all over the country and especially with Lahore being cleared.”
Since 2009 terrorist attack international teams stopped touring Pakistan. He said, "We have three T20 games coming up against Pakistan in September and we would like to play at least one of those games in Lahore."
Where the eight people were died due to this deadly attack.
Only the international team to visit Pakistan since 2009 assault is Zimbabwe, which had played five t20 international in Lahore, Pakistan in 2015. Sumathipala gave the message to international cricket that to end Pakistan's isolation and wished other teams to play there, Addressing the Asian Cricket Council in Colombo.
He also qouted the example of the Sri Lanka's Tamil Separatist Conflict. During this conflict top teams of the world could not wish to play in Sri Lanka. But at the peak of this conflict Pakistan stood by us.
Sumathipala said:Sri Lanka suffered through three decades of terrorism and war and at one stage, no one wanted to come here ─ Pakistan stood by us then, as did India."
Newly elected PCB Chairman Najam Sethi told Dawn that he was very grateful for the Sumathipala decision to play in Pakistan and bring the international cricket to Pakistan. He said, "Once Sri Lanka has toured Pakistan, the door will be open for safe passage of other teams to the country."
