Jazz has deployed its first Software Defined Networking (SDN) on its fixed and LDI Network. This upgrade will let the company to improve its service creation, performance and efficiency.
Country’s first SDN launched by Jazz
The SDN will allow the Jazz to shift from current manual node-level working to automatic. This automated E2E dynamic upgrade will sort the adjustments in capacity, priority, routing, maintenance related shutdown. This SDN brain will achieve through end-to-end high-level visibility established by connecting it to all individual routers.
Khalid Shahzad, CTO – Jazz said about the SDN deployment: ”Digital transformation is forcing companies to be agile and move with speed, and the network needs to be equally agile and fast. Understanding this, Jazz decided to deploy SDN across its fixed & LDI network to ensure expected growth in traffic flows are managed seamlessly, while new services become easier to deploy.”
SDN stands for Software Defined Network is a method to use open protocol like OpenFlow, to use globally aware software control at the edges of the network to access the network Switches and Routers that used closed and proprietary firmware. It provides lot of benefits like on-demand provisioning, automated load balancing, streamlined physical infrastructure and the ability to scale network resources.
